The deadline for service providers to register with IYS (Message Management System) and the transfer of current commercial electronic messages approvals to IYS systems has been postponed once again.
According to the announcement published on the website of the Ministry of Commerce on 30th of November 2020;
The terms regulated under Turkish Commercial Code provisional Article 13 paragraph 1, which entails provisions regarding distribution of profits, has been extended by 3 months. Accordingly; “Equity companies may decide to distribute only up to twenty-five percent of the net profit for the year 2019, previous year profits and free reserve funds cannot be distributed, and the board of directors cannot be authorized to distribute dividends until 30/12/2020.”
The Regulation on Commercial Communication and Commercial Electronic Messages has been amended in the Official Gazette dated 28 August 2020 and numbered 31227. In accordance with the amendment, the last date of uploading approval to the Message Management System (IYS) by the service providers, has been postponed to 01 December 2020. Approvals will be checked by citizens until 16 January 2021; in case the right to refuse is not used, the data transferred to the IYS will be deemed approved.
According to the Decision dated 23.06.2020 and numbered 2020/482 of the Turkish Personal Data Protection Authority, the deadlines of the VERBIS have been extended due to Covid-19 pandemic. The Decision has been published in the Official Gazette on 25.06.2020.
